The vision of Make-A-Wish^® is to make every eligible child’s wish come true.

To be able to live up to our vision, it is vital to work closely together with the medical professionals or those in the medical field. It is only when they believe in our mission and trust in the quality of our work, that they will be willing to refer children with life-threatening medical conditions to us.

Therefore, medical outreach is important for each affiliate. This toolkit consists of tools which are mainly based on the best practices of our affiliates and Make-A-Wish America.

To show you how the toolkit is designed, you will find a document describing the framework of the toolkit and a presentation which gives an overview of the topics covered in the toolkit.

Next, you will find information about:

• Eligibility: which children qualify for a wish?
• Outreach: how to grow the number of referrals from the medical profession?
• Make a Plan: when you allocate means for medical outreach and you make a plan, you will see improvement with your results.

You will see that most of the documents are in two versions: a PDF-version and a Word, PowerPoint, or Excel version. This way you can use the editable versions, translate them, and amend them so that the document is more useful to your affiliate.
